What exactly stops if I cancel?
The routing service. The free tier keeps working: Local Only agent, gateway, Shadow Mode, reports, your ledger. Your data is a local file either way.
Why isn’t the router free?
The static build routes on fixed rules and always will; it’s in the source-available daemon. The subscription connects you to routing that’s retrained on measured outcomes and evaluated against new model releases within days. You’re paying for decisions that improve, delivered as a service.
Do I need a frontier subscription too?
For frontier-tier work, yes: your existing Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini key plugs in. Local Only mode needs none.
Is there a trial for Developer?
Shadow Mode is the trial: it shows what the routing service would be worth on your traffic before you pay for it.
